CASTILLO EL COLLADO Hotel **

This exceptionally beautiful castle has been converted into a charming boutique hotel which dates back to the twentieth century (1900) and is nestled in one of the most privileged places in the village of Laguardia. The first owner, Mr. Tapia, was a respected landowner in the area and founder of the well-known brand of soap "Chimbo". The castle was built using the original stones from the barracks which date back to the twelfth century, known as "el Cuartel del Rey" (the King's Barracks). As a tribute to the magical world of the fabulist Samaniego, Castillo El Collado offers us the chance to step into this universe, experiencing this world in the ten rooms that have been decorated with exquisite taste and which afford superb views. The bedrooms, each one individually decorated, are equipped and superbly appointed. The original features and style have been maintained as far as possible. The coffered ceilings are dream-like. In the hotel lobby, a chapel with an altarpiece from the seventeenth century, in silver and gold leaf, is a pleasant surprise for visitors. There is a games area and a bar located on the main floor for you to use at your leisure and is flanked by beautiful art nouveau stained glass.
