A group of 60 winegrowers from Lapuebla de Labarca created Bodegas Covila in 1989. It consists of premises equipped with the latest technology to guarantee the maximum quality of wines when producing and ageing. Its 250 hectares of vineyards, with an average of 25 years, some of them even 80, are located between Lapuebla de Labarca, Laguardia and Elciego.

They focus mainly on Tempranillo variety, although some hectares centre on Viura, grapes used to produce white wines. Awarded many prizes, the wines are marketed both in the domestic and international markets. They export to countries such as Germany, Holland, Denmark, UK and the USA. Currently it markets wines under three brands: "Covila" (Crianza, Reserva/Mature, Red, White and Rosé), "Viña Guría" (Crianza, Reserva/Mature, Red, White and Rosé) and "Pagos de Labarca" (AEX Red, AEX White, Gran Reserva and Crianza).
