Wineries in the Basque Country
First, the grandfather, next, the father and now, his granddaughter Loli. She is heiress to a tradition that as time passes has turned into a passion. This is, above all, a way of life and a way to feel the land where wine means culture and culture is fuelled by tradition, a custom that renovates day by day. Bodegas Loli Casado own 25 hectares of private vineyards of which 9 hectares are over 60 years-old, 12 hectares between 30 and 45 years and 4 hectares between 7 and 10 years. Times change, but Bodegas Loli Casado witnesses customs and traditions combined with the latest technologies. Stone presses, wood barrels and masonry caves alternate with stainless steel tanks, controlled fermentations and crianzas in noble wood. The result is ideal: experience and renewal. The winery sells its own wines since 1982. Currently it markets four brands: "Juan de Alzate" (select, crianza, reserva/mature and gran reserva), "Polus" (reserva/mature, young white, white fermented in barrel, Tempranillo, Graciano and semi-sweet rosé), "Covara" (young, select and crianza) and "Loli Casado" (oil). Visiting the facilities and tasting its wines is posible. Groups of up to 25 people. Fixed timetable, but reservation is compulsory.
