Wineries in the Basque Country
Luberri-Monje Amestoy is exactly the reflection of Florentino Martínez Monje's personality: a winery combining tradition and avant-garde. About twenty stainless steel vats, a refrigeration system to control the fermentation temperature and new American and French oak casks are the tecnological means used by Luberri-Monje Amestoy to give the best processing to the grapes. With 32 hectares of vineyards, 90% correspond to Tempranillo variety grape, 5% to Viura and 5% to Cabernet Sauvignon. Carbonic maceration is the traditional system applied in Rioja Alavesa to produce wine. They produce young wines, crianza and reserva under the "Luberri" brand, "Seis de Luberri", "Biga", "Monje Amestoy" and "Luberri Cepas Viejas". Guided tours and tastings, but by previous appointment. Groups of no more than 18 people. For more information contact the person in charge.
