Tourism destinations

Located in the historical territory of Alava, Berantevilla belongs to the Cuadrilla de Añana. The village is surrounded by the beautiful hillsides of Atalaya and Txulato Mountains. Several buildings and monuments preserve medieval characteristics.

Some palace houses, for instance, display coats of arms from that period. In the town centre it is worth visiting the parish church of Nuestra Señora de la Asunción with its elegant tower and a retable from the 18th c. in churreresco style. Out of the urban area, on the bank of the River Ayuda, we will find Linares Park, a recreational area providing a soccer field, barbecues, tables, benches and a playground.

Anyone visiting the municipality in September will enjoy Berantevilla's main festival. It is held at the beginning of the month honouring Nuestra Señora de la Asunción, being September 9th the most important day. A music parade takes place, which consists of going house after house collecting people to build a human castle. Once finished, the person on top must sing a verse.
