Laukiz, municipality of rural character, is located in the historical territory of Bizkaia, within the Uribe-Butrón region. Its artistic heritage is very wide. We'll begin our visit in the village's centre, where we'll find the Town Hall, birthplace of Basque poet and writer Esteban Urkiaga, Lauaxeta. Nearby we'll find the beautiful Baroque church of San Martín, dating back to 18th century.
Magnificent views of the whole region
Laukiz offers great views of the region. Likewise, we can climb up Unbe Mountain, very interesting from the religious point of view because of its sanctuary, and also due to its water spring that, in popular speech, has healing effects.
Moreover, if our visit takes place in September weýll enjoy the municipality's patron saint festival, consecrated to San Miguel.
