Mediaeval Álava guided tours

Álava Medieval (Mediaeval Álava) is made up of an inter-disciplinary team combining researchers in the fields of history and art with teachers and experts in tourism and heritage education.

They enable visitors to Álava province and Vitoria-Gasteiz to discover the city’s so-called Mediaeval Almond and cemeteries, the sanctuary church of Estibaliz, the mysterious paintings of Alaitza, Gazeo, Añua and Arbulo, the Romanesque chapels of the Llanada Alavesa and the rich heritage of the mediaeval quarter of Salvatierra/Agurain.

Mediaeval Álava also organises activities specially designed for families.

• The origins of a mediaeval town form the subject of a tour for families to discover the mediaeval quarter of Vitoria-Gasteiz and understand part of its history and development as participants imagine scenes from everyday life in the middle ages.
• "El misterio de los canecillos" (The Mystery of the Brackets) is a tour of the sanctuary church of Estibaliz based on a set of games and challenges to solve.
