The Zumalakarregi Museum is accommodated in the Iriarte Erdikoa House, home to the well-known Zumalacárregui family, which most outstanding members were Carlist general Tomás Zumalakarregi and his brother Miguel, a liberal politician. It is a reference centre for the study of the 19th century Basque Country.
The museum provides the biographies of the Zumalacárregui Brothers, as well as data about the First Carlist War, an information contextualised in the difficult and violent transition from the Ancien Régime to Liberalism, between the French Revolution and the Second Carlist War.
