Ibarraundi Museum

Eskoriatza Museum School was created in 1986, and was originally housed in the Town Hall. Later, the same Town Hall acquired Ibarraundi Palace (which dates back to the 15th century and belonged to the Galartza family) and decided to move the museum there. In 2005 the Eskoriatza Museum School changed its name to the Ibarraundi Museum. The Ibarraundi Museum aims to protect, study and disseminate knowledge about Eskoriatza's historical and ethnographic heritage; it also strives to become a centre which promotes the expression and study of Eskoriatza's culture as well as that of the valley of Leniz. The museum houses a permanent exhibition, focusing on history and ethnography, and also hosts temporary exhibitions.
