The parish church of Santa María la Real (Azkoitia)

Santa María la Real is a parish church that was built in Basque Renaissance style back in the 16th century. It consists of a hall church and three naves of the same height. Eight enormous Tuscan pillars support the church ceiling. The tower has undergone reforms throughout history. In its interior we will see valuable altarpieces, images and paintings belonging to different periods, from 16th to 19th centuries. But there is another treasure in the church: the last organ built by Cavaillé-Coll. The Romantic organ was inaugurated in 1898 and it is a veritable masterpiece due to its magnificent sound.
