Paseo de La Concha

La Concha Promenade runs alongside the beach of the same name. It begins at the end of Avenida de la Libertad Avenue and finishes in the tunnel of El Antiguo, offering the opportunity to have a relaxing walk along the seashore or ride a bike, for there is a bidegorri (bike lane).

The characteristic and lovingly painted wrought-iron balustrade has become one of the city's most distinguishing marks. Juan Rafael Alday designed it at the beginning of the 20th century.

Apart from the views of La Concha Bay and Santa Clara Island, the lively promenade is surrounded by buildings and lordly houses worth to see, such as the emblematic Londres Hotel, Miramar Palace of English style- and the famous Clocks, which are the meeting point for many Donostia-San Sebastián citizens.

We also have to mention La Perla thermal springs installations, the only centre of thalassotherapy in the city, located in the promenade. It reminds us of the time when San Sebastián was a spa city.
