The narrow streets in Plentzia's old part keep still the charm of historical spots. The old fishermen houses mingle with palaces and the church. One of the buildings is the old Town Hall (nowadays a museum). This beautiful building on masonry stone is one of the nicest in the old part. The Múgica-Butrón tower is worth visiting too. And the visitor can admire, likewise, some remains of the old walls surrounding Plentzia's old part: Santiago arch-door. The church of Santa María Magdalena dominates over the old part. The tower has a firm appearance because, apart from its original function as belfry, it operated as defensive fortress. We may define it as a peculiar Biscayne Gothic style.
