Balmaseda's town hall stands out because of its portico, known as the Mezquita de Balmaseda (Balmaseda's Mosque) because of its resemblance to Mudejar style. This beautiful portico is divided in five stretches with six spaces. Voussoir semi-circular arches supported by thick hexagonal pillars with facet corners form it. This beautiful Baroque building was built in the middle of the 18th Century. The main façade was built in masonry. The noble floor has five balconies with big corbels as supports, the central one is bigger than the rest and there is a coat of arms above it. The upper floor has three-centred arch windows. A complex cornice and a hipped roof crown the building.
