San Vicente Church

San Vivente Martir Church

Art & Culture

Cultural Heritage

This awesome church was the last one to be built in the old part: its construction dates back to the end of the 15th century and the beginning of the 16th century, and it presents Renaissance and Gothic features.

The church has three naves covered at the same height by cross ribbed vaults and intermediate arches. Inside, it is worth mentioning the chapel of the Santa Cruz (La Milagrosa), bearing the imperial coat of arms of courtisan Ortuño Ibañez de Aguirre, and the choir and the chapel of El Carmen, with late Renaissance elements.

Only some remains of the old fortress have been preserved, such as some of its tower's wooden framed structure (over the temple's naves), which, no doubt, deserves a visit.
