State Treasury building

Architect Antonio Zobaran was responsible for the project of this 20th century monumental building (1942-1953). From the very beginning the building was planned as the headquarters for the State Treasury delegation, so it was projected as offices building.

The building's majesty concurs with the style used for public buildings in Franco's period: the style recovered some features of the classicism and 16th century's imperial styles.

This way, in the main façade we'll find a wide repertoire of classicist decoration (pediments, corbels) and balconies for public functions.
