Hermitage of San Cristóbal de Elgezua

The medieval hermitage of San Cristóbal de Elgezua, located in Igorre's Santa Lucía neighbourhood, forms a very interesting artistic-archaeological site. The building has rectangular plan and was built in late Romanesque style. The interior shows a 16th century Neo-gothic altarpiece with an image of Nuestra Señora de la Ascensión and polychrome wooden carvings of Santa Lucía and San Cristóbal, dating back to the 18th century. The hermitage presents a wooden choir and it is surrounded by a beautiful landscape.
