The Zabiel Palace was erected in 16th and the main facade was built in cut sandstone masonry. The building is a three-storey structure whose middle floor is the most appealing of the three due to the architectural decoration. On the second floor we will have the chance to gaze at helical shaft columns with beautiful Ionic capitals. Besides, the building has an exquisite coat of arms above a small pelota court and the palace is crowned by a protruding eave. The Zabiel Palace has kept some of its ancient elements. For instance, the left bottom of the facade is a lancet arch with seven voussoirs forming an access. At the back facade a path leads to a narrow street where it is possible to see the trace remains of a machicolation of cut sandstone. In past times it functioned as a school. Nowadays, following restoration works, it operates as the Mutriku cultural centre.
