Oiartzun Megalithic Site

Located in Aiako Harria Natural Park, Oiartzun Megalithic Site keeps some remains dating back to different prehistory periods. The route begins in Oiartzun and goes down to Bianditz.

The oldest remains were found in Torre cave, which belong to Superior Palaeolithic (over 12,000 years). Likewise, there are burial remains dating back to the Iron Age, cromlechs prevailing among them (Arritxurrieta, Munerre and Errenga, for instance).

The most spectacular Megalithic monument in Oiartzun is the North Oieleku cromlech, a circle of stones measuring up to 10 metres in diameter. The Oiartzun Megalithic Site has been declared "Historical Monument with the rating of Listed Cultural Asset".
