The San Martín hermitage, located on a hill and surrounded by the San Martín path and a beautiful oak grove, was built at the beginning of the 16th century. The design is a simple one. Particularly striking are the hermitage's wooden framework and the pointed arch at its entrance.
The beautiful central altarpiece is the work of Pierre Picart. Inside, four bas-reliefs depict various scenes from the life of San Martín.
The belfry, from the 18th century, and the portico, from the end of the 19th century - or beginning of the 20th century - are also particularly noteworthy.
This hermitage was home to various brotherhoods: the Herreros de Oñati, under the patronage of San Martín, and the Hermandad de San Roke. The hermitage's utilities remain in full working order, and a mass is held every year on the feast of San Martín (11th November).
