Zestoa's spa

Tradition tells that in 1760 the Marquis of San Millán was strolling through the fields surrounding Zestoa when his dogs decided to swim in one of the nearby thermal wells.

The dogs, who were suffering from scabies, suddenly healed. It was then that they discovered the healing properties of the water and decided to promote this practice. Years later, in 1804, the Zestoa Spa was opened, thus beginning tourism in the area.

Today, as well as the primitive Casa de Baños (Bathing House), we can find the Gran Hotel, a building dating from 1893. After the serious flooding in 1983, the Zestoa Spa underwent major renovations of services and facilities to install the most modern hydrotherapy and spa equipment at the level of the most famous European spas.

Today it has 130 rooms, a large dining room, theatre room, hunting dining room, Arabic dining room and large social room. The entire complex is surrounded by beautiful gardens.
