Aizpitta Interpretation Centre

The history of Zerain is closely linked to iron and to understand its present it is essential to find out about its mining past.

Aizpitta visitor centre explains the whole process of extracting iron in a fun, educational way, as well as the impact this has had on the landscape today, the local economy, society and culture. Aizpitta visitor centre is at the heart of the Montaña del Hierro - the “Iron Mountain”, a place listed as a Monumental Site - and the starting point to discover the spectacular mines of Aizpea, which are one of the main attractions in Zerain.

Special mention must be made of the restored "Polborina" gallery, which is open to visitors.
