The Centro de Interpretación de la Pasión Viviente (The Living Passion Interpretation Centre) is located in the Santa Clara convent, which is one of Balmaseda's most symbolic monuments. The centre gives visitors the chance to learn all about the Living Way of the Cross. The spectacular reenactment attracts thousands of people every year.
The permanent exhibition includes clothes, Holy Week procession floats, pictures and sounds. The centre, which serves as the headquarters of the Asociación Vía Crucis Viviente de Balmaseda (Balmaseda Living Way of the Cross Association), also hosts a range of workshops.
Tue-Sun and public holidays: 11am - 2pm Fri: 11am - 2pm and 5.30pm - 7.30pm (summer) Mon: closed (except public holidays) The museum is closed on Mondays and on the days leading up to Holy Week; this is because the items which are normally housed in the museum are taken out and used for the reenactments over the Easter period.
