Housed in the cave of Los Judíos in the hamlet of Sangrices, Kobenkoba is the first palaeolithic cave art visitor centre in Europe. A cultural and tourist project that offers visitors an authentic journey into the palaeolithic world and the chance to discover the art left on the walls of caves and rocky outcrops all over the continent between 35,000 and 10,000 years ago.
The cave is divided into three different areas. The entrance hall shows the everyday life of palaeolithic people and the singular creations of prehistoric artists. In the North Room, visitors can enjoy an audiovisual show explaining how artists in the glacial period created their cave carvings and paintings. And finally, in the South Gallery, is the Cave Art Gallery, which brings together replicas of some of the most important sets of artwork in Europe.
Moreover, Kobenkoba offers the chance to take part in children's activities like the spray-painting workshop, where they can experience one of the painting techniques used by our ancestors in palaeolithic times.
