Bars and pintxos area
This is the smart part of San Sebastián, between La Concha and the river Urumea. It is home to the shops and most of the city's landmark buildings. The area is full of restaurants and cafés, but also bars well-stocked with pintxos. One of the highlights of this neighbourhood is the Antonio (Bergara 3) with its exquisite potato omelette. Very nearby, in one of the best streets in the city centre for food, Calle San Marcial, you can sample the delicious pintxos at the Zaspi and the recently-refurbished Prontxio, while at the end of the street are the historic La Espiga and Aluztiza, with pintxos made using the finest seasonal produce. Nor should you forget the wonderful fish pie served in the Tierra y Mar (San Martin 42), or the classic "trainera" at the Mesón Martín (Elkano 7)
