Discover the Goierri running, but without hurrying

The Ehunmilak ultratrail is one of the big dates on the Gipuzkoa sporting calendar, run over a full weekend in July in the setting of the Goierri area. This event and the Zegama-Aizkorri take place in an outstanding natural setting, overlooked by the Aralar mountains and Aizkorri-Aratz nature parks. The route and length of the Ehunmilak offer athletes’ friends the chance to enjoy some outdoor and mountain tourism too, and in fact the events have served to boost other initiatives for visitors such as the Cheese Trail, the Zegama Trail Station and the whole Basque Highlands brand, backed by local institutions. Like this, mountain races and nature as tourist options join gastronomy, which is already one of Goierri’s most popular attractions, the area being well known for Idiazabal cheese, cider makers, the D’elikatuz centre, cheese makers and the market in Ordizia.
