Azkena Rock Festival and Bilbao BBK Live nominated for the “Best Large-Format Festival” prize at the Iberian Festival Awards

The eighth edition of the International Music Festivals Forum is to take place in Vigo and Lisbon on 13th and 22nd March respectively.

The programme for the latest International Music Festivals Forum, Talkfest, is packed with novelties, with new categories included and cash prizes. The first day will be devoted entirely to the Iberian Festival Awards (IFA), the only awards that rate the festival sector and its stakeholder groups at Iberian level.

A total of eight Basque festivals have been nominated in different categories. Azkena Rock Festival in Vitoria-Gasteiz and Bilbao BBK Live are competing for the “Best Large-Format Festival” prize. In the "Best-Medium-Sized Festival" category, Bime Live, Dantz Festival, Donostia Festibala, Mundaka Festival and BBK Music Legends Fest have been nominated.

Getxo Sound Fest has been nominated in two categories: on the one hand, it is in the running for the "Best Small Festival" prize, and on the other for "Best New Festival". Dantz Festival and Mundaka Festival are competing with several other events for “Best Cultural Programme”.

In the 22 award categories, the different Basque festivals mentioned above have earned a total of 48 nominations. Also, Semana Grande in San Sebastián has been nominated in the new "Best Festivities" category. The winning festivals will be chosen by popular vote through the official website.
