The new Map of Cider Breweries brings the world of cider within the reach of all visitors to the Basque Country

The first map devoted to the culture of cider includes 83 cider breweries and 2 museums

The Basque department of tourism, trade and consumer affairs has presented a map devoted to the world of cider in the Basque Country, to help visitors to the country to discover the world of Basque cider. 83 cider breweries are featured on the map, as well as Sagardoetxea and the farmstead of Igartubeiti, two museums focusing on the culture of Basque cider.

The cider breweries of the Basque Country are visited by around 800,000 people a year, especially in the "Txotx" season. Cider has seen visible growth at global level, in terms of both what is produced and tourism connected with it.

This has led to projects like Ciderlands: Makers & Lovers. This international network of cider destinations was set up with the backing of the Basque Country, with 10 destinations around Europe taking part.

The Sagardomapa is to be available through the breweries themselves, at tourist offices, and through guides and agencies, as well as for anybody who asks for it. It can also be downloaded in pdf format from the tourist leaflets page of the Basque Country tourism website.
