Asador Etxebarri, third best restaurant in the world for the second time
The restaurant in Atxondo has regained its place in the 50 Best list, together with another three Basque establishments
Bittor Arginzoniz, charismatic chef at the Asador Etxebarri, regains third place in the list of The World's 50 Best Restaurants, highlighting the top establishments in the world. It has also won the accolade of Estrella Damm Chefs’ Choice, voted for by the chefs who make up the list.
The top 50 restaurants in the list also include another three well-known Basque establishments: Mugaritz in 14th place, Elkano in 16th place and Azurmendi at number 49.
The 50 Best ranking, which has existed since 2002, recognised Asador Etxebarri - which holds a Michelin star - as third best restaurant in the world in 2019, a year when Mugaritz, Elkano and Nerua were also among the top 50 eateries.
