The tour will leave from the Arriaga Theatre and Palacio de las Libertades, enormously important places in the history of Bilbao. On the way to San Antón Bridge, which earned us our reference as a port, we’ll enjoy the atmosphere of the streets and squares in which the city was born. We’ll take a look inside Santiago Cathedral and Yhon Palace, and walk round the City walls. Having toured the 7 streets of the ‘Botxo’ as the Old Quarter is fondly referred to, we will continue over the Arenal Bridge to take in those early constructions, including the home of the Sociedad Bilbaína society and the Santander Train Station. The walk will continue through gardens and past cafés retaining their bourgeois style, until coming to Chavarri Palace in Plaza Moyúa We’ll end in a bar-café for a rest and, of course, to taste the miniature gastronomy so typical of the Basque Country.
