Since it opened in 1912, the Hotel Maria Cristina has been closely linked to the history and cultural life of San Sebastian.
Prestigious five-star hotel designed by the French architect Charles Mewes, creator of the Ritz hotels in Paris and Madrid.
It is located a few metres from the beach, overlooking the Cantabrian Sea and the Urumea river, and surrounded by gardens. Its classic façade, made of carved stone, is the calling card for an interior with all the luxury of the Belle Époque. The rooms and their bedrooms and suites are decorated with elegance typical of its times and a modern touch.
Each September, the great figures invited to the International Film Festival stay in the Maria Cristina hotel.
It houses the Easo restaurant, one of the best restaurants in the city, the Asian restaurant Tse Yang San Sebastian and the bar Dry San Sebastian.
