Pasaia Maritime Festival

The Gipuzkoan town of Pasaia will host the II  edition of the Maritime Festival between May 26 and 29 of 2022 that will bring together maritime cultures from different parts of the world, with Portugal - specifically the town of Moita - being the invited oceanic culture. The event will bring together vessels from different parts of Europe and their crews and will offer various cultural and gastronomic activities.

It will have a water area, destined to host traditional boats from different corners of the world; and another of land, with spaces conceived as 'villages', the scene of many cultural and gastronomic activities. Those of land will be developed in the different pasaitarras districts: Pasai Donibane, Pasai San Pedro, Pasai Antxo and Trintxerpe.

El Marité

It is one of the boats that can be visited at the festival. A wooden sailing ship steeped in history built in 1923 in Fécamp, Normandy. Since its creation, it sails every year to the Canadian coast to fish for cod and after one hundred years of sailing it will embark in the bay of Pasaia.
