Bullring
Third class bullring that holds around 4.000 people. In 2003, the ring celebrated its centenary. It belongs to the City Council and it's nowadays managed by the Comisión Taurina de la Plaza de Toros de Azpeitia. Its main festival takes place in August, celebrating San Ignacio. In spring, visitors can also enjoy the "novilladas," sort of bullfights using young bulls. During the festival, cushions are rented by the Basque Road Assistance DYA and a music band provides the entertainment. As traditions says in Azpeitia, in the moment to kill the third bull, the music band plays the "Zortziko" composed by Aldalur, to the memory of the matador's supporter from Deba, José Ventura "Laca."
