"La Encartada" beret company was established in 1892 by Marcos Arena, in co-operation with an English textile company. They made berets mainly. The whole production came from the factory: beginning with the acquisition of raw material and wool spinning, until berets were made up. Several buildings form the compound: the factory itself, the workers' dwellings, a hermitage and the residence of the person in charge. The factory is a four-storey rectangular firm building, with smaller spaces attached to it. It has great windows too. In its interior there is well-preserved and highly valuable machinery, mostly original, dating back to the 19th century. Nowadays the building is home to the Textile Museum.
