The Lazarraga Palace was built in the second half of the 16th century. It is a square-based building, constructed with different kinds of stone. The roof has four parts and is covered with ceramic-style tiles. The main façade, located in the Eastern part, is divided into two parts. In the ground floor, the door is surrounded by Jonic-style columns and, in the upper floor, there is a coat of arms with classical elements. On both sides of the main entrance door, there are two balconies flanked by stone cantilevers and banisters. Nowadays, in this building is located the Ethnographic Museum of Zalduondo, where lots of customs and the history of the inhabitants of these lands can be learned. There are rooms for Basque ceramics, local craftwork, sacred art, prehistory....in addition, there is an exhibition of the wall paintings and the works awarded by the Premios Zalduendo de Pintura (Zalduendo Painting Awards). At present, this building hosts the Ethnographic Museum of Zalduondo and is the headquarters of the Cultural Association of Zalduondo that manages it.
