Encartaciones

The region of Encartaciones occupies the westernmost and least known parts of Bizkaia.

This is a region with a long history that has left us a rich natural and monumental heritage. Its magnificent constructions (Indianos mansions, medieval towers and Baroque palaces), the succession of valleys full of routes through forests and mountains leading to the coast, and its towns with great personality (Balmaseda, Karrantza, Muskiz or La Arboleda mining town) make this region an unique place.

It offers many tourist resources, such as impressive Pozalagua Cave, the Torre Loizaga Museum of Vintage and Classic Cars, the El Pobal Ironworks or the Karpin wildlife refuge centre.
