The Basque Railway Museum of Azpeitia offers an insight into the Basque Country's railway history, by means of an exhibition of more than sixty trains which have been completely restored and are now in working order: steam locomotives, urban tramways, passenger and merchandise carriages, trolleybuses, etc. It charts the evolution of this mode of transport throughout 150 years of history. In addition, visitors will have the chance to view collections of railway clocks, machine-tools, uniforms, lanterns, etc.
It is one of the most important museums of its type in Europe.
For several months, visitors will have the opportunity to make the trip from Azpeitia to Lasao (5 kilometres) in a steam train.
