Monuments of Igartza

Praktika Onak Euskadiko Turismo Etika

The Historical Monuments of Igartza are located to the west of Beasain Beasain, on the Way of St. James' inland route.

This complex is made up of palaces, hermitages, water mills, ironworks, the Dolarea hotel-restaurant, where the old wine press is located, and the 16th century wooden dam.

The site of Igartza dates back to the Middle Ages, when the tower-house was built in the 14th century, in the area where the palace is now located. Throughout history, the site and the buildings on it have been developed and transformed. Most of the buildings preserved today, except for the palace, were built or remodelled in the 17th or 18th centuries.

Guided tours are offered to learn more about the buildings that make up the complex. As the complex is the responsibility of Beasain Town Council, various activities and events are also organised: conferences, exhibitions, concerts, etc.
