The beaches of Landa and Garaio renew their Blue Flag for the sixth year running

Three of the five flags awarded in the Basque Country are in Álava, and the other two in Bizkaia.

The province of Álava once again flies the Blue Flag on three of its inland beaches. This was recognised by the Foundation for Environmental Education in Europe and the International Jury for Blue Flags for the sixth year running, including the beaches of Landa, Moskurio (Garaio North) and Salurriaga (Garaio South) in the list to recognise and promote official and public efforts to meet the required standards of sanitation, accessibility, legality, cleanliness, safety and environmental education.

The other two Blue Flags fly over the beaches of Arrigunaga and Ereaga in Bizkaia province, proof of the quality of their water, the high level of their facilities and the safety of the sands in the municipality of Getxo.

Ereaga Beach is located in Biscay's town of Getxo, between the old port of Algorta and the Arriluze breakwater. With more than 800 metres of fine sand, this wonderful beach is very well equipped for the summer season. Arrigunaga Beach is located in Biscay's town of Getxo. Situated down on the cliffs of La Galea, it offers amazing views of the Abra and Aixerrota mill.
