Tourist Information Centre
The coastal town of Getaria is a major tourist attraction.
The Tourist Office, located in the new Zarautz Jauregia building and open all year round, will help visitors to explore Getaria's most emblematic spots, as well as the other towns and villages that make up the region known as Urola Kosta: Orio, Zarautz, Aia and Zumaia.
The building also houses archaeological remains from the origins of Getaria, including Roman remains from the 2nd century AD, and is home to the museum dedicated to the first circumnavigation of the globe by Juan Sebastián Elcano, the illustrious navigator born in the town.
The office provides information on various topics such as gastronomy, historical and artistic heritage, landscape, cultural offerings and local events, and organises guided tours to discover Getaria's rich heritage in depth. It also offers information and sells tickets for various cultural events.
It offers it services in a range of languages: Spanish, French and English. It also provides assistance to Camino de Santiago pilgrims.
