A mining past

Likewise, the peculiar landscape of La Barga, with its calcareous needles emerging from the earth at the Cristina mine, or the shell of the Ezequiela well, created for the Agruminsa's mine's ventilation and which is the only mining shell kept in Bizkaia, are worth visiting too.

Everyone willing to know the secrets of this activity should visit the Mining Museum of the Basque Country, sitting in Gallarta. One of its objectives is the protection of mining industry's heritage.
