Ostatu

This is a beautiful winery with the look of a stately home and surrounded by vineyards.

The old winery dates back to the 17th century and became in 1988 the current winery, which is an ascentral house dating from the 18th century and equipped with new production warehouses.

The vineyards are spread over different spots of Rioja Alavesa region, with an expanse of approximately 33 hectares. These vineyards produce almost all the grapes to produce the wine. The winery combines the traditions and experience of the older generations of wine growers with the aenological science and knowledge of the younger generations, obtaining as a result a very high quality product, manufactured by using artisan methods, with loving care and attention.

Proof of it is "Gloria de Ostatu 2003". This wine varity is included on the 76th position on the 2008 list of the world's best wines released by the North American magazine Wine Enthusiast. The rest of the wines making up the wide offer are marketed under the following brands: "Ostatu" (new white wine, new red wine, new and reserve), "Mazarredo de Ostatu" (new) and "Ostatu Laderas del Portillo" (signature wine). Visiting the winery is possible if booked in advance.
