Exhibition on Worldwide Butterflies

The beauty of nearly 7000 worldwide butterfly species is available at the permanent exhibition Worldwide Butterflies. Manuel Aguirresarobe, founder of the exhibition, sold his work to the Irun City Council in 2006.

Butterflies from the Spanish State and the Basque Country making up the collection have been caught by Manuel Aguirresarobe. Other worldwide species are result of the collaboration between colleagues or institutions from different areas of the world. Each species bears a descriptive card including the main features of the butterfly.

The tour rounds off with a screening of a documentary on the butterflies' biological cycle. Collections: World butterflies and a documentary on the butterflies' biological cycle.
