Cultural Heritage

Seles (pasturelands) are closed and circular pasturelands defined by a central stone. From the Middle Ages to the 19th century they were used as pasturages for cattle.

There are two kinds of seles, the winter ones, located on river basins and used to keep the cattle, and summer seles, located on the hills and used as pasturelands.

Some of these seles can be visited in Urkiola Natural Park.
