The sanctuary of Nuestra Señora de Andikoa is a Gothic temple. It was built in 1560 and the nave divided into three stretches. Harmonious and proportioned, its walls were built in golden coloured stone masonry. The apse hosts the vestry and the portico is located on the side of the church.
The church has no tower, but a belfry for bells, located on one side too. Inside, at the rear, two arches and a column support the choir. It is a replica of the choir in the church of San Juan Evangelista, also located in Berriz.
The altarpiece is worth agazing at too; made in polychromed wood and in a particular type of Baroque called Churrigueresque style, some of its architectural elements tend already towards Rococo. The sanctuary of Andikoa was restored in 1949.
Santuario
Two festivities are celebrated in this sanctuary, the Purificación de Nuestra Señora on February 2nd, and the Ascensión del Señor a los cielos.
