Even though the exact date of the building's construction is unknown, we are certain that there used to be a mill on this location in the 18th century. Zamakola is both a mill and a "caserio" or typical Basque farm-house; that is, apart from the mill facilities, the house is its owners residence. According to the plaque on its façade, the building underwent deep restoration works in 1874. It has a square plan, three floors and hipped roof. This caserio is built in stone masonry, except for the buiding's corners and openings, in cut stone masonry. The mill can be considered an example of Neo-classical popular architecture.
