Bilbao Arena

The Bilbao Arena sports venue, which opened its doors in September 2010, is located in the Miribilla area of Bizkaia's capital city. It was built with stones which are reminiscent of the type of rock that could be found in the old mines before they finally closed in 1995, and ornamental elements which ensure that it sits in perfect harmony with its natural surroundings.

The Bilbao Arena, with an area of more than 30,000 square metres, includes a sports centre (complete with swimming pool and gymnasiums) for use by the residents of Miribilla and, besides this, a court which can hold up to 10,000 spectators.

In addition, Bilbao Basket basketball team plays its home games here. When the court is not in use by the team, it can be used to host all types of activities, with the capacity to hold up to three different events simultaneously. Indeed, it has consolidated its status as a "multi-purpose arena", which can stage concerts, shows, including "family shows", and sports activities.
