Izki Natural Park Visitor Centre

The Izki Natural Park Visitor Centre is located in the small village of Korres, part of the municipality of Arraia-Maeztu and the only settlement within the boundaries of the protected area.

The centre welcomes visitors, offering them information of all kind, including about the network of paths that make it possible to discover Izki on foot, on horseback or by bicycle.

Visitors can take a look at its permanent exhibition to find out about the wide variety of ecosystems (rivers, woods, wetlands and crags), the wildlife living in the park (mammals like the wildcat, birds like the peregrine falcon, the Egyptian vulture, the griffon vulture or the short-toed eagle and a wide variety of reptiles, amphibians and insects), as well as the plant life to be found in its extensive woods: beeches, kermes oaks, alders, gall oaks, mixed forest, birches, aspen and oaks. It also provides information about the uses and sustainable exploitation of the area by humans.

The visitor centre also organises activities and guided tours, school activities and awareness raising campaigns.
