The San Adrián tunnel way, which crosses Gipuzkoa and Alava, is perhaps a route that best reflects the Basque Country, an itinerary where, in just seven days, one can discover an enormously varied and diverse country. Coastal landscape, lush forests, fertile orchards, dry farming land, endless plains, heavily industrialized towns , rural scenery and more endless traces of beauty that all make up the surrounding countryside. All in all, the pilgrim will come across huge geographical, historical, socio-economic and cultural diversity in only 200 kilometres. Likewise, it's worth mentioning that this route was, from Roman times, one of the most important axis of communication throughout the north of the peninsula.
