Bars and pintxos area
This is one of the areas of Bilbao that manages to combine nightlife with daytime atmosphere. On the Calle Licenciado Poza night-time establishments rub shoulders with restaurants and pintxo bars. Some of the streets in this area are pedestrianised, which has encouraged going out for drinks here. Highlights among the pintxo bars include Covent Garden (Doctor Areilza 28) with its famous potato omelette, Serantes II (Alameda Urquijo 51) with its shellfish-based specialities, Munegorri (Alameda San Mamés 43) where the pintxo selection is constantly updated with seasonal produce and La compañía del Ron (Máximo Agirre 23) with its wide variety of pintxos.
