When to go:
visit the wineries by making a prearranged booking, except at Talai Berri which is the only one with tours on Fridays at 11:00, with no minimum group required. The Txakoli and Idiazabal cheese pairings are held on Thursdays and Sundays in summertime and only on Sunday mornings throughout the rest of the year. Every day in the morning during Easter Week.
Minimum group:
Not required in Talai Berri, Amestoy and Txomin Etxaniz. Minimum numbers required in Urki and Rezabal. Txakoli and Idiazabal cheese pairing in Igartza. Minimum group 15 visitors (please enquire for smaller groups).

Basque Coast: Getaria, Zarautz, Orio, Aia, Olaberria

Although Txakoli from Getaria can be associated with the town of the same name, this wine is currently produced with Designation of Origin in the whole of Gipuzkoa. Nonetheless, the coastal strip of Aia, Orio, Zarautz and Getaria is home to the vast majority of wineries producing this unique wine.

One of the most characteristic features of Txakoli from Getaria are the landscapes that make up their vineyards, grown on the green slopes sheltered on the mountains that roll down to the sea.
